When we as voters try to figure out what all the political advertising means, there comes a time that we need to focus on key elements of the races and make up our minds based on verifiable facts.
The verifiable facts that are important to me are as follows:
I don’t like a candidate on the judicial side of the fence that has
their campaign that is financed by lawyers. We don’t need judges beholding to
attorneys. Be sure to check out the campaign finance reports filled in the
I don’t like the fact that the county indigent attorney fees are much higher than the average for a county our size. Wasting money. An issue for commissioners court. We need a new voice on commissioners court. This wasted money is needed to staff our sheriff’s department or DA’s office.
I believe that SLOW JUSTICE IS NO JUSTICE. Look at the” mandamus ruling “, analysis it, and decide who you want working your case. I decided there needs to be more changes in the District Judges procedures. STUDY IT AND DECIDE FOR YOUR SELF.
I don’t like a candidate that uses vicious personal attacks to win their race instead of verifiable figures etc.
I don’t like deceptive advertising of issues i.e. The posing of Cooke County Justice center employees to look like the Gainesville Police Association who have endorsed a candidate for the DA’s office. Who did this? Is this the way evidence will be handled?
I don’t like the fact that the county will spend millions on the Courthouse renovations and we can’t get a dollar spent on our kids for a sports complex and other youth programs meaningful to reduce crime activities among kids. Again a Commissions Court Issue.
All to be said, these are issues important to me and I have made my decision to vote for certain candidates based on these facts. I hope each of you will pick out issues, verify the facts and make you decisions to vote for the candidate that will work to fix these issues.
There is one more day of early voting and March 4th is the big day and final chance to VOTE.
